Dell Boomi Offers new Google APPS Connector in September’s new release

Cesar Cordero

In the September release for Dell Boomi’s Atomsphere the platform now offers a Google Apps Connector!

The Google Apps connector uses the Google Drive API for spreadsheet file management as the Google Document List API has been deprecated.

WHAT’S NEW:
Dell Boomi has added the following improvements to the September 2015 release of Dell Boomi AtomSphere. For more information, please see the September Release Notes in the AtomSphere Reference Guide.

API Roles

A Dell Boomi administrator can create a series of API Roles and associate specific users to each API Role. By associating a group of users to a single API Role, the administrator can grant access all the users associated with that API Role for specific APIs, groups of APIs, or web service components at once without needing to set the permissions individually.

Also, the administrator can define specific IP addresses or IP address ranges for Dell Boomi users.

Specific features of the API Roles are:
• Administrators can define API Roles for authorization to specific APIs or groups of APIs.
• Administrators can define specific IP addresses or IP address ranges for Dell Boomi users.
• API Roles can be associated with authenticated Dell Boomi users.
• Access to APIs is restricted to users who have specific API Roles.
• Access to web service components is restricted to users who have specific API Roles.
CORS Support in AtomSphere API and AtomSphere Partner API

Newly added support for the W3C CORS (Cross-Origin Resource Sharing) protocol in the AtomSphere API and Partner API lets these APIs circumvent the browser’s same origin policy, thereby enabling you to implement cross-server JavaScript-powered RESTish API requests. To enable CORS requests under an account, you must configure CORS request matching rules for the account in Account Setup on the Security tab.

Test Atom Cloud

In order to improve performance for all customers, the following limits have been placed on the Dell Boomi Test Atom Cloud:
• The Account Concurrent Execution Limit property has been set to 20. Each account can run up to 20 concurrent executions.
• The Default HTTP Workload property, which determines the process execution mode, is set to Low Latency Debug. This means that all web services server processes use an Atom worker, provided that Atom workers are enabled in the account.
• The HTTP Request Rate has been set to five (5), which means that there can be five web services server requests per second.
• The Web Service Request Input Size property has been set to 5242880 bytes. This limits the input size of a web service request. If this limit is reached, the request is rejected.
Queued Process Executions

On the Process Reporting page you may see a process execution that has started but that has not yet completed. If you point your cursor at its icon, you may see one of three tooltips:
• Starting — The process is starting. Processes start so quickly that it is unlikely that you will see this tooltip.
• Enqueued — If the number of simultaneous process executions per node has exceeded the limit, then the process is in the queue. This tooltip applies only to non-low latency process executions. You can cancel a queued process execution.
• Pending — The process is pending completion. You can cancel a pending process execution.
X.509 Certificates

You can now specify a password when you generate a private key for an X.509 certificate. You also can change the password on an existing certificate, provided that you have its current credentials.

Usability
• When running a test case on a process, the process’ View Log report and the Test Results table have been updated.
• The Create Component folder chooser is updated to be consistent with other folder choosers.
• The previously chosen selection is the default value for the Process Folder menu.
• The Compare Process Deployments and the Compare Web Service Deployments tables have been updated.
• The Create a Folder and Rename a Folder dialogs are now top-down dialogs.
AtomSphere API and Partner API Connectors

There are several enhancements to the AtomSphere API and AtomSphere Partner API connectors:
• These connectors have been updated to enable access to all objects that are accessible through the respective AtomSphere API
• These connectors have been updated to enable access to all actions that are accessible through the respective AtomSphere API.
• When you use one of these connectors and its Import Wizard to browse for objects, the list of objects appears in alphabetical order.
Google Connector

The Google Apps connector uses the Google Drive API for spreadsheet file management as the Google Document List API has been deprecated.

JIRA REST Connector

Documentation for the JIRA REST connector and its connection and operation is available in this reference guide.

As a reminder Dell Boomi now offers a basic $550/Month entry level AtomSphere subscription level making Dell Boomi one of the most competitive IPAAS platforms in the middleware market today!
